Mike's Bike Tours

Mike's Bike Tours Countryside Schedule

Please note; no tours on April 30th (Queensday)

In about 4 hours we’ll offer lots of advice and insider tips and help you develop a great sense of orientation. We begin with a historical introduction covering the city from its founding in 1275 up to the present day. In the city we give you a run down on skinny bridges, crooked building and bike filled canals. Naturally we will also answer all your questions regarding the “vices” that are readily available in Amsterdam. The majority of the tour is spent riding along the Amstel River beyond the edge of town where we’ll pass by funky houseboats, rowing clubs and people fishing. Then we’ll show you one of the few remaining authentic windmills and visit an entertaining Dutch farmer at his cheese farm/clog factory, where he will demonstrate the traditional art of making wooden shoes. You can also have some free samples of authentic Dutch cheese, try on wooden shoes and go cow tipping (if you can catch them).Coming back into town we go through parks like the Beatrix and Vondel park before finishing.

Our Bike Tour is not the least bit strenuous and is suitable for all ages, as long as you can ride a bike! The countryside bike tour takes about 4 hours in total. Join us for a fun and informative ride you'll be glad you decided to take!

If you're looking for a great time, a sense of orientation, a background on the city you are visiting and its history, a chance to make new friends, an opportunity to relearn the childhood skill of bicycle riding and a chance to get in touch with your inner self, among other wonderful pleasures, this tour is definitely for you. Coming on Mike's Bike Tour of Amsterdam will make you a better person. It will make you stronger, more attractive, funnier, more popular and whatever else you may desire!
